Yesterday was my paternal side of the family's Christmas party. Due to illnesses or other miscellaneous excuses, we've missed the festivities far too many years so it was fabulous to finally make it. One of the traditional party tricks is a white elephant gift exchange, where people bring bizarre gifts to exchange and we steal from one another or wind up with an eclectic mix of items that we either throw out when we get home, bring back next year, pass off onto someone else, or occasionally genuinely keep. Bailey and I both ended up with these (handmade by my Cousin Wendy) and I'm thinking our gifts certainly don't make us look like white elephants. Well, Mommy does, but she'd look that way regardless.
