Well, she asked for a little brother...

But then a little sister came to be instead.  She can't be too picky, right?  Sisters...brothers...they're all the same.  Okay, so maybe not.  But for argument's sake, we'll pretend it all is.

I know, I said "no more," but surprises happen.  People get bitten by the spontaneity bug and before you ask yourself, "what was I thinking?" you're in for a whole new responsibility.

So our house is now welcoming another pitter patter of little feet.

Weighing in at less than five pounds, not all that long and as cute as can be came our newest addition, arriving in a basket fresh from the stork.  Meet Izabella Fudge Hudson, named Fudge by the anxious and proud big sister.  First she named her Callie, but a day later she awoke with the firm decision that her little sister is named Fudge and so it's sticking, despite the fact that option wasn't on any lists we had personally offered.

Big sister Aerial is shockingly more tolerant than we had ever considered and Kaitlin is as casual.  Bailey is thrilled.

We are too.

She is our princess after all

On Saturday, Bailey had the day any modern little princess would have enjoyed.  She went to see the Disney Princesses on Ice.  It was a surprise, yet somehow she knew she was going.  She told us so that morning.  How? We may never know.  We barely even knew.  It was a spontaneous venture on our parts, but apparently planned on hers.

Later that day while playing in the backyard with her father, the Princess played the role very well, by her own standards, of course.  She told Daddy she was a Princess, and she hunted down dragons in the kingdom, riding a horse that resembled a plastic toy rake, using a sword and wearing imaginary armor and spoke of how her (imaginary) helmet had been broken.  The mission of the brave princess was to rescue Prince Daddy from the deck which she did effortlessly, yet dramatically.

Just another day in the life of an ordinary princess, I'm sure.

Cleverness has escaped me

Actually, I think it's time.  Time just won't stay put.  Funny how that works, really.

I had so many clever headlines and entries thought out before our Disney trip from two weeks ago, and then more to come as we returned, and as you can tell, none of them have been added yet.  Continue to be patient with me, please.  It's greatly appreciated.
